- lustre and moisture may come back
- may be ill
- more physical (body form and presence)
Clouded spirit characteristics:
- zheng qi is weakening/ being overtaken by PF
- zheng qi may be okay, but spirit is obscured or replaced by phlegm
- obscured clouded
- marijuana, alcohol, and other drugs, heat stroke, trauma, shock, PTSD, toxins, pocession
- more related to shen, speech, eyes, orientation to outside of the world
False spirit characteristics:
- floating pulse, but rootless
- flare up of spirit (temporary yang rising)
- may open eyes
- color, speech, complexion, appetite may come back
- typically means death is coming
Spiritless/ Zero Shen characteristics:
- clouded, dull, disconnected or even closed eyes
- no lustre or moisture in eyes, white of eyes may be abnormal
- zheng qi is greatly damaged
- posture is not upright
- weak, no strength
- no appearance of strength/balance of the body
- emaciated or bloated body form
- no moisture or lustre in complexion
- breathing problems, labored shallow breathing
- little speaking and appetite
What is a normal complexion ?
- moist and bright
- moisture reflects yin and bf nourishing the face
- lustre is a shine that the face has - shen is shining through complexion
- reddish -> blood is going to face, oxygenated blood is getting to the face, above the HT, to the face so has reddish hue
- contained
Red complexion signifies:
- increased circulation (hyper circulation)
- more oxygen blood going to head than normal
- fire imbalance
- HT imbalance (overjoy or actual HT problem)
Full face is red =

- Excess/full/replete HEAT

White complexion signifies:
- shock
