Safe storage of flammable liquid
A
When in use in the workplace, the quantity of flammable liquids should be minimised
- Up to 50 litres of highly flammable liquids
- Up to 250 litres of flammable liquids

- Identify the fire hazards

Means of escape
A
- Stairs and passageways should be kept clear, be well lit and appropriatley marked
- Doors on an escape route should open in the direction of travel and be maintained to ensure effective smoke seal
- Emergency lighting, if provided should be regularly tested and maintained and should be backed up by an emergency power supply
- Exit and directional signs should comply with legislative standards, have appropriate pictograms and be easily seen
- Assembly points are safe refuge areas in a buildiing or in the open air. They should be clearly marked and kept clear
