Outline roles of clients
- Make suitable arrangemnets for managing a project, including the allocation of sufficient time and other resources
- Provide preconstruction information as soon as is practicable to every designer and contractor on the project
- Ensure that before the construction phase phase begins, a construction phase plan is drawn up by the principle contractor
- Ensure that the principle designer prepares a health and safety file for the project
Outline whats included in the construction phase plan
The construction phase plan sets out arrangemnets for securing health and safety during the construction phase including site rules, any particular measure of work involving particular risks.
It is drawn up by the principle contractor during the preconstruction phase and before the site is set up.
It must take into account the information the principle designer holds and must be reviewed, updated and revised during the construction phase to ensure it remains effective

- Plan, manage, monitor construction works under their control
- Co-ordinate activities with others in the project team
- Comply with directions given by the principle designer or principle contractor
- Ensure that persons they employ have the neccessary skills, knowledge, training and experience to secure their health and safety

- Identify, eliminate or control foreseeable risks and ensure designers carry out there duty
- Prepare and provide relevant information to other duty holders, in particular principle contractors to help them plan, manage, monitor and co-ordinate health and safety in the construction phase
