Cab Discipline:
The awareness and actions of a driver and others in the cab that minimises distractions.

Purpose of cab pass:
To allow authorised access of others onto the cab.

Cab Pass types:
Green +4: Holder certified as a trainer
Blue +2: Holder competent in rules and regulations
Yellow: Certified in personal track safety
Purple: Not competent in Rules and Regs or PTS

  1. Arrangements that allow for authorised cab access and action to take in managing unauthorised cab access.
A

Visitors to driving cabs must introduce themselves and show their pass to the driver before entry. They must have a good reason.

Ensure Windows and doors closed and all keys removed. Unauthorised access must be challenged and reported.

a) Read all notices.
b) Check next day duty.
c) Collect diagram.

8) No platform start signal and previous signal was red, but given authority to pass signal at danger.

A

A

SaS:
When passing a platform start signal at danger.

SoY:
There’s no platform starting signal, previous signal was yellow, driver passes signal at danger beyond the station.

PPS:

  • Brake step 3, DRA set, Neutral, stand in the middle window
  • Call out any signal at caution (press and call)
  • Look at ‘sunflower’ as yellow and black would mean you passed a yellow signal.

What is meant by the term red, yellow and green driving modes and when each should be used?

A

Green - When you are relaxed. Used when going through green aspects, no issues.

Yellow - Focused and alert, safety conscious, cutting out external noise. Used when focusing on specific task.

Red - Extremely focused, others involved. Used when being tasked to do unusual/rare moves and in emergencies.
