What does Regulation 5 of the MHSWA 1999 require?
It requires an employer to MAKE ARRANGEMENTS for the EFFECTIVE PLANNING, ORGANISATION CONTROL, MONITORING & REVIEW of the preventive and protective measures.
These arrangements must be recorded where the employer has 5 or more employees.
What MUST the General Statement of Intent contain, in a written Health & Safety policy?
The signature of the person at the top of the organisation (CEO/MD).
Dated - This will indicate the statements currency & when it should be reviewed.

On a companies written a Health & Safety policy, what objectives could the Statement of Intent contain?
Meeting legal obligations.
Provision of a safe workplace, safe equipment, safe systems of work, information, instruction, training and supervision.

Provision of adequate resources such as expert health and safety advice.
Effective communication and consultation with workers.
