Q

What happens with the polythene rod

A

At the start, polythene rod and cloth are both uncharged. This means even positive and negative. When charged (rubbed together) the electrons move. But protons are locked, as they are in the middle. At the end, they are both charged with opposite charged, which means they are attracted

Q

Explain rubbing thing

A

Insulating materials can be charged by rubbing. Objects that have the same charge repel and objects that have opposite attract each other. Charged objects will always attract uncharged objects
