electronics to inputs Flashcards
How does a rangefinder distance sensors work
They use ultrasound or infrared to produce output signals which are calibrated to measure the actual distance to an object
What are the range of these sensors
It is usually in excess of 1.0m
How could the rangefinder distance sensor fail
This could be triggered by other unintentional obstacles such as bumps in the floors or nearby chair legs
how does a slotted opt-switch work
A slotted opt-switch contains a small gap within the sensor and an output signal is generated when an object moves into this gap
how does a reflective Opto-switch work
A reflective opto-switch will give a high output when reflective object moves close to the sensor (within a few millimetres)
what is a opto-switch
It is a digital sensor containing a light source and a input receiver
what does a IR LED and apt transistor look like on a Circuit diagram
