  • The Hammond Organ uses tone wheels to create its sound, which are then amplified
  • The hammond organ is closely associated to the Leslie speaker, that creates a moving tremolo sound as it rotates

  • Was invented in the 60s to allow players to create guitar-like tones
  • It has a series of strings that are plucked when the key is pressed which are then amplified using pickups
  • Has close association used with Stevie Wonder who used it a lot in the 70s

  • An early form of sampler
  • As a key is pressed a piece of tape plays back. recording of that note
  • It couldn’t record any additional sound
  • Was used in The Beatles Strawberry fields.
