What is the definition of current
Is the rate of flow of charge, or the charge transferred per unit time

When the current is suppliedfrom the battery it moves know one direction only the size of the current is constant in size and direction

When the current is supplied from the mains it changes direction several times every second this is called alternating current and the size of the current is constantly changing size and direction
