Position Lights

left - red ; right - green ; tail - white
Strobe Light
provides coverage FWD, AFT, up, down and outboard to guard against in-flight collisons
Landing/Taxi Light
used for landing and taxi operations at night
Approach Lights
activated when all landing gear is down and locked and weight is off the wheels
Formation Light
10 green lights used during join up after take-off, in-flight, refueling, and routine night formation flights. visible to wingman and indicate changes
DFIRS
Deployable Flight Incident Recorder Set
What is the purpose of DFIRS
the retrieving and storage of flight data, when a/c crashes beacon sends signals on military UHF guard frequency of 243Hz. Operable battery up to 72 hours
Pitot- Static System
measures temp, pitot and static air pressure surrounding the A/C
Standby Pressure Indicator
4 digit display indicating barometric pressure in inches of mercury
Vertical Speed Indicator
senses changes in air pressure and displays them in the form of climb/drive rate from 0-6000ft per minute

converts pneumatic static and total pressure inputs from L-shaped pitot static
