Electrical Flashcards
Primary Battery
provides essential power to the aircraft for aircraft starting and shutdown.
Battery System
The battery subsystem con-sists of a primary battery with a connected charger and an emergency battery with an internal charger.
EPMS?
Power Distribution Panel (PDP)
Provides overcurrent sensing and distributes AC, DC and BATT
Circuit Breaker Panels (CBP)
5 total in aircraft, receive power from PDP and direct to using sys.
Electronic Load Controller (ELC)
Non-redundant, provide secondary switched power distribution
Primary Battery Subsystem
Provides 24V DC for Cold Refuel, Starting APU, starting ENG when using external air source
12 minutes at 80%
Emergency Battery Subsystem
30 minute backup to IMC/IFR equipment
Only works if both R/TRUs fail
Generators (GEN)
i. Driven by the XMSN Accessory Gearbox (AGB)
ii. Provide 115V AC, 400 Hz, 3-phase power
iii. One generator is able to supply workload for entire aircraft
Generator Control Unit (GCU)
Manage power output and protect GEN from under/over Voltage
Regulated Transformer Rectifier Unit (R/TRU)
i. Primary source of DC power 28V DC
ii. Converts AC power from GENs to DC power and sends to PDP
