Electrical Flashcards
What type of an electrical system is the airplane equipped with?
A 28 V DC electrical power generation and distribution system. AOM 9-05-01
If both generators are available, do they operate in a split bus mode or parallel mode?
Split bus mode. AOM 9-05-01
What does the white AVAIL light indicate?
That the GPU button is pushed out, a GPU is connected and the voltage is set between 25V DC and 30 V DC.
AOM 9-05-30
Which light will illuminate when the GPU button is pushed in and providing power to the airplane?
If the GPU button is pushed in and providing power to the airplane the white AVAIL light will go off and the
green IN USE light will illuminate. AOM 9-05-30
What color does the battery voltage indication show if the battery is discharging?
Amber. AOM 9-05-30
What will the indication be on the electrical synoptic page if the GPU is connected but is not providing power
to the airplane?
A white GPU. AOM 9-05-30
Will the Ram Air Turbine (RAT) be continuously displayed on the electrical synoptic page? If not, when will it
be displayed?
No, only when it is deployed and providing power to the airplane. AOM 9-05-30
How can the pilot manually command the RAT to deploy?
The right seat pilot can pull the red manual deploy control. AOM 9-05-30
What buses is the APU capable of supplying power to on the ground if the APU is the only source of electrical
power?
All electrical loads including the shed buses and charging the batteries. AOM 9-05-40
What buses are the APU capable of supplying power to inflight?
All electrical loads (except for the shed buses) and charging the batteries. AOM 9-05-40
What buses does the RAT generator power?
EMER BUS 1, 2 and 3 and charging the batteries. AOM 9-05-40
When will the RAT automatically deploy?
During an electrical emergency. AOM 9-05-40
In flight, when will an electrical emergency occur?
When the two main generators and the APU generator are unavailable. AOM 9-05-40
How many main batteries are there?
Two. AOM 9-05-40
What is the rating of the main batteries?
24 V DC 40 Ah NiCad batteries. AOM 9-05-40
