Elbow Anatomy Flashcards
1
Q
Joints at elbow
A
Humero-ulnar (Uniaxial Synovial Hinge) Joint – Humorous articulates with ulna.
Humeroradial Joint – Humerus articulates with radius.
Proximal Radio-ulnar (Uniaxial Synovial Pivot) Joint – radius articulates with ulna.
2
Q
Ligaments at the Humero-ulnar
A
- Ulnar (medial) collateral - Medial epicondyle of humerus to coronoid process and olecranon of ulna, triangular ligament with anterior, posterior, and oblique bands.
3
Q
Ligaments at the Humeroradial Joint
A
- Radial (lateral) collateral - Lateral epicondyle of humerus to radial notch of ulna and anular ligament.
4
Q
Ligaments at the Proximal Radio-ulnar
A
- Anular ligament - Surrounds radial head and radial notch of ulna, Keeps radial head in radial notch; allows pronation and supination.
