Motherhood is shaped by intersectional factors such as race, gender and class norms, by practicing motherhood I’m everyday life the mothers are repeatedly reaffirming these norms, maintaining the domesticated stereotype
Susie Scott argument and Anne Murcott’s study
Murcott’s study of working class families in South Wales found that women saw cooking the family meal as an enjoyable experience, a privilege, she also notes that women still perform the majority of the work and men do very little in the way of cooking, illustrating how conventional domesticity is deeply rooted in the routines or working class families
