What is communication
Communication is the exchange of information, thoughts, feelings, and ideas

Sender- an individual who creates a message to convey information to another person

Message- information, ideas, or thoughts

receiver- an individual who receives the message from the sender
What is feedback
A method that can be used to determine whether communication was successful

The message must be clear
2nd important element of effective communication
The sender must deliver the message in a clear and concise manner
3rd element of effective communication
The receiver must be able to hear and receive the message
4th important element of effective communication
The receiver must be able to understand the message

Interruptions or distractions must be avoided
What is listening
It means paying attention to and making an effort to hear what the other person is saying
What is nonverbal communication
It involves the use of facial expressions body language gestures eye contact and touch to convey messages or ideas
