Overcrowded or cold and damp rooms = nowhere to do homework.

Frequent moves and changing schools = different learning skills and having to settle in.
What is the effect of having a poor diet on W/C achievement?
Can lead to illness = absences from school and lack of concentration in class due to hunger.
Why do poorer families miss out in education?
Can’t afford school trips, computers to help with education, may be bullied or stigmatised for lacking the right uniform.

More costs than benefits going to uni, and are less likely to have family financial support when there.
According to Boudieu (1984) why are M/C students more successful than W/C?
They have economic capital (wealth) and Cultural capital (skills, knowledge & values).
What is educational capital?
M/C give children advantage to obtain qualifications, allowing access to higher jobs (like a cycle of M/C).
