What does the Education Act 2011 state?
A
Gives automatic lifetime anonymity to teachers for any allegation they have/may have committed an offence against a pupil at their school. This ends if they are charged though or if the education secretary publishes info about that person.
They are - so far - the only group of people in uk law to be given anonymity by law in respect of an allegation.
Fine of up to £5,000 if breached.
Defence - show that at the time you were not aware / suspect / had reason to suspect that the publication included the info in question which would identify someone/that the allegation had been made.
