A

most of the migrants came to work, they did not want to settle down, the wanted to work, earn money and leave. the government did not have enuf money

for the chinese, wealthey chinese traders usually set up schools that taught in chinese, however there was no english. some malay schools were built by wealthy individuals in the early 20th century.
