Q

What happened?

A

Edgar starts a rebellion in the north, then Norman forces were attacked in Durham and Robert Cumin was killed as he was the new earl of nottthumbria. William marched both slaughtering innocent people and people involved in the rebellion; he built a new castle in York and this made Edgar flee from fear. He thought that was it so he went back to Scotland but king swein attacked so william sent his army to the coastline (this made more rebellions break out in york). William razed most land in york. This threat made the Danes get back on the ships and return home. William was again successful
