What is the management of eczema?
Avoiding any triggers
Steroid ladder with regular moisturiser use
Second line options include tacrolimus and pimecrolimus
What is the presentation of impetigo?
What is the appropriate management?
Clusters of golden crusty lesions
Typically around the mouth, flexor surfaces
First line = topical hydrogen peroxide cream
Alternatives: topical Fusidic acid or Mupirocin
What are the key features of eczema herpeticum?
Cluster of itchy blisters/punched out erosions
Umbilication
Monomorphic (all look the same)
What is the distribution pattern of eczema in very young children?
Extensor surfaces
What are the key features of pompholyx eczema?
May be precipitated by humidity and high temperatures.
Presents with small itchy blisters, recurrent crops of vesicles which then become dry and crust/crack
