Ectotherms, Endotherms and Plants Flashcards
What is the definition of an ectothermic organism?
An organism that relies on the external environment to maintain their body temperature.

What is the difference between endot hermic and ectothermic organisms? Claire G
An endothermic organism is an animal whose heat is generated through it’s own metabolic activities, an ectothermic organism is an animal that depends on an external source, ie the environment.
Define exothermic
Keenan & brooke
They are organisms that require heating from the outside. And have limited ability to control their temperature
E.g. snake & lizard
Is a lizard a ectothem or endotherm?
Ectotherm
Is a kangaroo an ectothem or endotherm
Endotherm
What is ecothermic and endothermic
Ectothermic is dependent on an external source and endothermic rely on an internal sources such as metabolic activity (Amanda)
What is the definition of an endothermic organism?
An organism that has the ability to control its internal body temperature despite the temperature of the ambient environment.
