What is an energy pyramid?
An energy pyramid is a drawing that shows which consumers are eaten by whom below them. It is usually around four animals.
What is a producer?
Animals that produce their own food from the non-living environment also known as autotrophs.
What are autotrophs?
Organism that can produce its own nutrients.
What is biological magnification?
The build-up of a chemical within an organism as a result of its progress along a food chain, increasing in concentration with repeated doses (also known as bioaccumulation).
What is a biotic factors?
The living aspects of an environment.
What is a biosphere? (Bio meaning living)
The regions of the surface and atmosphere of the earth or another planet occupied by living organisms.
What is a carnivore?
Animal that eats other animals.
What is a community?
All the populations of various organisms, both plant and animal, living in a given area at the same time.
What is a competitor?
Living things fighting for the same resource in an environment.
