Population
A group of organisms of one species.
Species
The lowest level of classification.
Environment
All living and nonliving things around an organism.
Adaptation
A structure of behavior that allows a species to survive.
Habitat
The place in an ecosystem in which an organism lives.
Biome
Regions of the world with similar climate, animals and plants.
Deciduous Forrest
Has 4 seasons. The average temperature is 50 F. Can be found in eastern United States, Canada, Europe, China, Japan, and Russia. They loose their leaves before the winter. The animals must be able to survive the changing seasons.
Desert
Are very hot, they can be much cooler at night. Organisms have special structures and behaviors that help them survive in the dry conditions of many desert.
Taiga
Taiga is the worlds largest land biome. This biome typically has long, cold, winters and short, mild, wet, summers.
Tundra
The Tundra covers about 1/5 of the earth. It is the coldest biome on earth. It can reach to about -50 F.
