Organisms that live together in an ecosystem to make up a community
Ecosystem
An area in Wichita living and nonliving things interact
Enviorment
All living and nonliving things around an organism is its enviorment
Biome
Biomes are regions of the world with similar climate, animals, and plants
Deciduous Forest
Has 4 seasons. Average temperature is 50 degrees farenhight.
Desert
Can be hot and/or cold. Takes up about 1/5 of the earth
Taiga
Is the largest biome land biome on the earth.
Tundra
Covers about 1/5 of the earth. Coldest biome
Tropical Rainforest
Located at the equator.Is wet and warm all year round
Grasslands
Also know as prairies, cold in winter hot in summer.
Producer
A plant that makes its own food using a process called photosynthesis
Consumer
A person or organism that uses commodity or service.
Herbivore
An organism that only eats plants
Carnivore
An organism that only eats meat
Omnivore
An organism that eats both plants & meat
Food Chain
A series of organisms interrelated in their feeding habits
Food Web
Multiple food chains in one
Decomposer
An organism that breaks down bacteria into simpler substances
