Environment
All living and non living things around an organism.
Adaptation
An adaptation is a structure of behavior that allows a species to survive and reproduce in its environment
Species
Organisms of the same species have the same general physical characteristics and other adaptations.
Biome
Biomes are regions of the world with similar climate, animals and plants
Decomposer
Organisms that consume dead plants and animals.
Food chain
A series of organisms each dependent on the next as a source of food
Consumer
Organisms that get energy from eating producers or other consumers
Food web
A group of interconnected food chains
Community
A group of organisms living in the same place
Biotic
All living things in an ecosystem
Abiotic
All nonliving things in an ecosystem
Niche
A job an organism has in its ecosystem
Ecosystem
A place where an organism lives and interacts with other organisms
Population
A particular group of organisms living in an area
Habitat
The home of a plant or other organisms
Biome
A region with certain types of animals and plants
Taiga
The largest biome and has two main seasons winter and summer
Tundra
The coldest biome and is sometimes called the cold desert
Deciduous Forest
The biome we live in and has four distinct seasons that are spring,summer, fall and winter
Desert
The hottest, driest biome and doesn’t get much rain
Rainforest
The biome that gets the most rain and is the home to over half of the worlds animal and plant species
Grasslands
The grassiest biome and gets a less than average amount of rain.
