ability of people working more effectively, research showing how to cope with workplace stress could be useful in showing companies who’s productivity would increase if member of the workforce are better equipped to deal with stress
How had forensic psychology research benefitted the economy?
relates to the cost and effectiveness of treatments, custodial sentencing and alternative to custodial sentencing
if research shows that custodial sentence doesn’t necessarily result in lowering of recidivism rates then perhaps it would be more economical to focus on alternatives such as restorative justice
How has cognition and development research benefitted the economy?
research has influenced educational policy and specific educational programmes relevant in preparing the next generation for work and thus relevant to national productivity and the country’s economy
What is recidivism?
the act of a person repeating an undesirable behaviour after they have experienced negative consequences, also the percentage of former prisoners who are rearrested for the same offence
