What is a community?
A group of different species that interact with each other in an area
What is matter?
Something that takes up space and has a mass
What is an energy pyramid?
A model of energy flow through the different trophic levels
What is an ecosystem?
A biological community of organisms, and the environment they live in
What are biotic factors?
Living factors in an ecosystem (trophic levels)
What are abiotic factors?
Non-living factors in an ecosystem (weather, soil, elevation)
What is energy?
The strength required for physical and mental activities
What is biodiversity?
The number of species living in an ecosystem; measures the health of an ecosystem
What is primary succession?
Starting with no living species (glacier, etc.)
What is secondary succession?
After a change or disturbance (tornado, fire, etc.)
What is ecology?
The study of organisms and their relations to one an other, and to their environment.
