initial management of eclampsia ?
A
- make sure scene is safe
- call for help
- put them into lateral recovery position and tilt 15 degrees
- 100% oxygen via non-rebreather
- IV line, take BP
- take preeclampsia bloods: FBC, renal and liver profile, coag, LDH

what is first line to control seizures in eclampsia ?
A
IV magnesium sulfate (do not give diazepam or other anti-epileptics)
- Iv mag sulfate causes vasodilation and flushing warn the mother

what is used to control hypertension in eclampsia?
A
- IV labetalol and hydralazine (if post seizure)
- oral labetalol, nifedipine, and alpha-methyldopa (if not yet seized)

initial management of sepsis
A
- take: blood (FBC, CRP, ESR) and blood cultures,
- lactate,
- urine output - give
- antibiotics
- oxygen
fluids - give 3rd generation cephalosporin for pyelonephritis
