bleeding from the genital tract > 24 weeks

initial investigations for antepartum hemorrhage?
A
- FBC
- group and crossmatch
- Keihauer test
- coagulation
- monitor fetus - ultrasound, umbilical artery doppler, CTG

Management of Antepartum hemorrhage ?
A
- resuscitation: IV line, FBC, group and crossmatch, coagulation, give steroids, if bleeding doesn’t stop get ready to go to theatre to deliver
- admission
- anti-D immunoglobulin

what are the grades of placenta previa?
A
- grade 1: into the lower uterine segment
- lower uterine segment and at the edge of cervical os
- extending partway across the cervical os
- grade 4: extending fully across the cervical
