ECGs Flashcards
How many seconds is 1 small square on an ECG?
0.04seconds
How many seconds is 1 large square on an ECG?
0.20seconds
How many voltages is 1 large square on an ECG?
1mV
Two methods of calculating HR
- Number of complexes in 6sec x 10
- Number of large squares between 2 complexes
Duration of the PR interval?
0.12 - 0.20sec (3-5 small boxes)
Width of the QRS complex?
Narrow. Normally between 0.04 - 0.12 seconds.
When is ST segment elevation abnormal?
> 1mm (1 small box) above baseline
When is ST segment depression abnormal?
> 0.5mm below baseline
What does ST elevation indicate?
Myocardial Injury
What does ST depression indicate?
Myocardial ischemia
Digoxin toxicity
What is the normal height of the T wave in limb leads and chest leads?
not>5mm in limb leads
not>10mm in chest leads
