ECG Flashcards
normal range for PR interval
120-200ms (3-5 small squares)
normal range for QRS complex
80 to 110 ms
QRS complex represents
the spread of a stimulus through the ventricles
PR interval represents
the time between atrial depolarization and ventricular depolarization
QT interval represents
the time it takes for the electrical system to fire an impulse through the ventricles and then recharge
QT interval normal range
350–450 ms in males and 360–460 ms in females
STEMI
the most serious type of heart attack where there is a long interruption to the blood supply .This is caused by a total blockage of the coronary artery, which can cause extensive damage to a large area of the heart.
non STEMI
type of heart attack involving partial blockage of one of the coronary arteries, causing reduced flow of oxygen-rich blood to the heart muscle.
axis deviation
does not follow the axis properly due to maybe hypertrophy or atrophy or rotations
what extra info do the augmented limb leads give u (aVR, aVF, aVL)
give u 3 extra views of events
precordial chest leads V1-6
look at the same events but in horizontal or transverse plane
limb leads do what
look at the spread of depolarisation and depolarisation from 6 angles in the frontal plane
rhythm strip tells you
calibrating pulse is o.2sec which is one large square. can count the R waves in 30 large squares(6sec) and multiply by 10 which should give u beats per min. 60-100bpm is normal, below 60 Is bradycardia, above 100 is tachycardia
