refusal to maintain more than 85%, fear, distorted view, amenorrhea

restricting type, binge-eating/purging type

key goal is becoming thin- motivation is fear, but fear of what?
preoccupied with food- “starvation study”
Think in distorted ways- Including maladaptive assumptions
Also display certain psychological problems
Anorexia Nervosa: Medical Problems
caused by starvation: many issues can occur, some of which can lead to death, amenorrhea, metabolic and electrolyte imbalances, lanugo
Bulimia Nervosa
aka binge-purge syndrome, compensatory behaviors mark the subtype of the condition: purge-type bulimia nervosa, nonpurging-type bulimia nervosa,
“Binge-eating disorder” is a related idagnosis
Bulimia Nervosa: Binges
Binges: preceded by feelings of great tension and/or powerlessness, consume between 1,000 and 10,000 calories per episode

: Compensatory Behaviors
Will try to compensate for and “undo” the binge,
the most common compensatory behaviors: vomiting, laxatives and diuretics
