What are some features of anorexia
self induced weight loss fear of fatness amenorrhoea decreased grey and white matter, increased impulsive behaviour decreased concentration
What is low, moderate, high and very high risk defined as in terms of BMI
low: 17.5-16
moderate: 16-15
high: 15-13
very high: under 13
what can anorexia eventually lead to
brain atrophy, reduced attention and memory, hypothalamic dysfunction, hair loss, muscle wasting, dry skin, bradycardia, hypotension, arrhythmias, anaemia, B12 and folate defficiency
what is refeeding syndrome
occurs when metabolites are depleted due to malnutrition secondary to anorexia, and when refeeding occurs too quickly the body is further depleted of metabolites (Mg, K, phosphate)
how do you manage anorexia
CBT, dietician, Art therapy, family therapy
What is Bulimia defined as
binge eating, then self induced vomiting, laxative use or starvation
what are some signs of bulimia nervosa

what are some complications of bulimia nervosa
