AN refeeding syndrome
-re-feeding = shift from fat to glucose metabolism
=hypokalemia, water retention, severe edema
-multiple organ failure
-must inc calories SLOWLY

-CBT (best outcomes)
-no FDA tx
-Olanzapine: modest wt gain
-SSRI: little benefit
-watch out for appetite-suppressing meds (bupropion)
Binge Eating disorder
-recurrent episode of binge eating
-at least once a week for 3 months
-NOT associated w purging/ex exercise
Binge-eating severity
-mild: 1-3 episodes/week
-mod: 4-7
-severe: 8-13
-extreme: > 14

-lisdexamfetamine (vyvanse)
Bulimia Nervosa DSM-5
-recurrent episodes of binge-eating
-recurrent inappropriate compensatory behavior
-at least once a week for 3 months
-same severity scale as binge-eating
Bulimia health consequences
-GI probs
-inflammation, gastric and esophageal rupture from vomitting (Mallory Weiss Tears)
-diabetic ketoacidosis from witholding insulin in T1DM
