What is an earthquake?
An earthquake happens when two blocks of the earth’s surface slip past one one another.
What is the Hypocenter?
The Hypocenter of an earthquake is below the earth’s surface where most movement takes place.
What is the epicenter?
The epicenter is the point of the surface that lies directly above the Focus
How can smaller Earthquakes be detected?
Smaller Earthquakes can only be detected with scientific equipment
Where do most earthquake occur?
Most Earthquakes occur at Convergent, Divergent and Transform plate boundaries
What’s the Normanl Fault
The normal fault occurs when rocks are pulled apart as the Earth stretches
What is the Reverse fault?
The reverse fault occurs when the rocks are pushed together
What is a Transorm Fault?
The transform fault occurs when two rocks are pushed past each other.
