A brief history of the college
Investors bought the assets of the college and the original SSSCIO closed in 1905. Those same investors opened Still College of Osteopathy that same year.
This man surveyed medical education in 1909, including osteopathic schools. He found that most medical schools in the country were insufficient. He was very critical of Still College, and his report led to the reform and closing of many medical schools.

S.L. Taylor, Thomas J. Vigorito, and J. Leonard Azneer
This man was famous for purchasing Still College Hospital, renaming it Des Moines Still College of Osteopathy, and becoming president.

This former president of the university flirted with the idea of offering allopathic degrees but was met with staunch opposition.
Thomas Vigorito
This former president of the school moved it to its current location and facilitated its transition into Des Moines University by adding multiple colleges.
