the human experience is the proper focus and center of all study and interest. Focus used to be on God and religion, this time period flips the focus to self and the beauty in the corrupt world. Focus on the worth of the human being.

Thin riser that raises the center piece of the triptych above the altar

(French for flame-baring), tension grabbing, like a flame, retro-style rework
Woodcut
carving an image into wood block (the matrix), which is then pressed into paper, relief technology, cutting away the negative space of the image, because it is made of wood it has a limited number of uses
Etching
use a corrosive agent (such as acid) to cut into the material. Use of wax as a protective covering to protect parts of metal that need to stay uncut. You can leave acid on briefly to make a shallow line, or leave it for hours to make a very deep line (create light and shadow).
