Q

What is the barker hypothesis?

A

On average, adults who had a coronary even had been small at birth and thin at two years of age

Nutrition un utero can lead to an increased risk of disease later in life

e.g. maternal malnutrition -> small baby -> energy consumption to compensate -> overweight health problems in later life
