Hitler’s appeal spread membership of the DAP and it grew to 1,000 by 1920 and 3,000 by the end of 1920.

- In January 190, the DAP set up a permanent office in Munich. Hitler chose Rudolf Schussler, a friend from the army, as the party’s first fulltime administrator. The party’s meetings were now more organized and better advertised. Party membership and funds began to increase.
What was the new name for the DAP?
Hitler suggest that the party should be called the National Socialist German Worker’s Party (NSDAP-Nazi party for short). The three parts to the name- national, socialist and workers all helped clarify the party’s policies. It also helped gain support- Hitler named the party so it would appeal to many different people.
