Exceptions to Provide Detox or Maintenance Medications

- pharmacist deliver prescription for injection/implantation to be administered within 14 days
- prescribing Suboxone & derivatives for OUD (no longer require X waiver)
2 Situations a Dispenser can Distribute to Another Registrant
distributing to another registrant wanting to dispense the medication to patients
- registered with DEA
- pharmacy records distributing & receiving
- DEA Form 222 (if schedule 1 or 2)
- # of dosage units do not exceed 5% of total dosage units of controlled substance in calendar year
pharmacy sends drugs to reverse distributor

- only done by practitioners
- submit a DEA Form 41
