What is Clopidogrel oral tablet used for?
Prevent heart attack or stroke by preventing blood clots
Drug dosage: 75mg tablet, 300mg tablet

What are the nursing implications for Clopidogrel?
Nil (lowers the risk of heart attack, stroke, or blood clots)
Contraindications: Antiarrhythmics, hypersensitivity, active pathologic bleeding
What should patients be monitored for when taking Clopidogrel?
Abdominal pain and other signs of GI bleeding, such as blood in the feces
Why should Clopidogrel be withheld before surgery?
To decrease the risk of hemorrhage during surgery
What is the mechanism of action of Clopidogrel?
Exhibits properties of four Vaughan-Williams antiarrhythmic classes; unclear which is important in producing drug’s clinical effects
What is Dronedarone used for?
Reduce the risk of hospitalization in patients with paroxysmal or persistent atrial fibrillation
