what is a value chain?
a model that describes a series of value adding activities. It connects the supply side of a company with the demand side.
What are the two different activities within the value chain?

copmanies decide internally what they need and look who can deliver. no sharing of information.
leads to independence and absance of opportunities to plan ahead.
Tactical inter-firm relationship?
agreements for a period about amount and type of products.
Both organizations benefit from a more stable supplier/buyer relationship.
