Mechanical- mural, extramural, intraluminal
Motility
Mech eg zenkers divertic of pharynx mucosa, above cricopharyng musc. Tx- myotomy or diverticulotomy.
Pulsion diverticula due to high intraluminal press- zenker, epiphrenic
Traction due to ext contrac- mid oes, TB adenitis, histoplasmosis. Us asymp.
Extramural- goitre, cervical spondylosis, bronchogenic CA, large L atrium, congenital dysphagia.
CA- squam carcinoma, adenocarcinoma, small cell rare, stromal tum, lymphoma.

CA- oesophagectomy, chemo, radio, palliative
Oesophagectomy risks- resp complics, delay gastric emp, stricture, anast leak, gastric nec, chylothorax, RLN palsy
