It’s a large slab of the earths crusts

It’s the thin outer layer of the earth and is made up of rock

Its consites liquid nickel and iron (under the mantle

It’s the centre of the earth and is up to 6000°
What’s a continental crust
When plates have land on them
What’s an oceanic crust
Iimts when plates have an ocean on them
What are convection currents
It is the movement of the magma taht causes plates to collide seperate and slide past each other
What’s the formation of convection currents
It’s the earths core heats up,magma rises slowly hit as it rises it cools down and the magma becomes heavier and sinks back down towards the core
What are plate tectonics
They mean that the earth is made up of large moving plates of solid rock
What are separating plates
They are plates that separate and magma fills up the space between which forms volcanic islands volcanic mountains and mid ocean ridges
What r colliding plates
They are plates that collide and the heavier plate is pushed down into the magma by the lighter one this causes fold mountains and volcanic nountains
What r sliding plates
They r when 2 plate slide past eachother and their edges become locked together, so when pressure builds up 1 may snap or jolt forward suddenly this can cause earthquakes
