What is an ectopic pregnancy?
Pregnancy located anywhere outside the endometrial cavity
How is ectopic pregnancy diagnosed?
Absence of an intrauterine gestational sac on transvaginal US once the quantitative hCG reaches 1500
What two things in a first trimester screening could indicate Down’s Syndrome?
Higher than usual total hCG
Nuchal lucency - thickening in naturally occurring fluid space at back of neck
When is Rhogam administered?
Antepartum at 28 weeks
Post partum if infant is Rh positive
When is the culture for group B strep taken?
35-36 weeks
What women should be treated for group B strep?
All women who have GBS bacteriuria at any time in pregnancy
Women who have given birth to an infant with GBS disease
