DV20 Normal Procedures 2022 Flashcards
Straight & level flight
Look for traffic Pitch nose w.r.t. horizon Speed 95kt @ 26'', 2300 RPM Wings level, ball centered, orientation point Trim
Transition straight & level to climb
Check engine instruments
Look for traffic
Raise node to climb attitude
Speed reduces, at 70 kts RPM 2400, full throttle
Wings level, ball centered, orientation point
Trim
Clearing turns every 500 ft (15º bank, 30º L/R)
Transition climbing to straight & level
Look for traffic
Lower nose 20ft before reaching target altitude
Allow airspeed to increase to 95 kts
Throttle 26’’, 2300 RPM
Wings level, ball centered, orientation point
Trim
Transition straight & level to descent
Check engine instruments Carb heat on/warm Look for traffic Power 20'', 2300 RPM Lower nose to 95 kts descend attitude Wings level, ball centered, orientation point Trim
Transition descent to straight & level
Look for traffic
100 ft before desired altitude - Carb. heat off/cold
50 ft before desired alt. - Throttle 26’’, 2300 RPM
Pitch nose for straight & level @ 95 kts
Wings level, ball centered, orientation point
Trim
Establish glide
Check engine instruments
Carb. heat ON/WARM
Look for traffic
Wings level, ball centered, orientation point
Smoothly close throttle
Maintain alt. by increasing pitch
Just above 70 kts lower nose to glide attitude
Wings level, ball centered, orientation point
Trim
Steep turn (45º)
Check engine instruments, look for traffic
Pick orientation point (OP)
Roll 45ºAOB, ball centered, @30ºAOB power +2’’
During turn: traffic, 45ºAOB, nose, Alt/VSI/95 kts
20º before OP start rolling level, @30ºAOB power -2’’
Wings level, ball centered, orientation point
Slow flight (w/ or w/o flaps)
Check engine instruments, look for traffic
Carbheat ON/Warm
Power 12’‘MP, RPM 2400
Maintain altitude by pitching nose up
If flaps, @white arc select flaps TO, then LDG
At V_s+10 or V_s+5 power to ca 22’‘MP
Wings level, ball centered, orientation point (OP)
Trim
Monitor pitch, alt., OP, speed
LDG = V_s0 = 38 kts Flapless = V_s1 = 43 kts
Accelerate to cruise flight
Check RPM 2400, then smoothly give full power
Carbheat Off/cold
Wings level, ball centered, orientation point
Decrease pitch to maintain altitude
If flaps are set, decrease in stages
At 95 kts, reduce power to 26’‘MP, RPM 2300
Trim
