Emergency landing without power
Maintain altitude until speed down to 65 kts (?)
Lower nose to keep glide speed, trim, ball center
Plan >1500 ft downwind with 100ft point; <1500 ft direct base; <700 ft direct final
Failure drill: Fuel pump on, ignition both, carb heat on, fuel shutoff valve open
Check engine, fuel quantity
Check wind direction, choose landing site, fly to 1000ft point (or direct)
Mayday call, ELT on manual, transponder 7700
When threshold 30º behind wing turn base; aim for 1/3 of landing site, when sure flaps T/O
Plan full flap short/soft field landing with 55-60kts, select flaps LDG, and aim for threshold
Crash touch drill: ignition off, master switch off, fuel closed, throttle full, belts tight
Go-around at minimum permitted altitude
Precautionary landing
Exercise with 800/500ft; emergency execution with 500/200ft.
Descend to 500 ft downwind, choose landing site into the wind
PAN PAN call
Fly runway inspection circuit at 200 ft above designated landing site
Fly 75kts @ 20’‘MP, and time length > 13 sec. = 500m at 40m/sec, no obstacles?
Go-around to 500 ft circuit
Short/soft field landing with full flaps, 55-60kts.
