  • sign the previous minutes as a correct record once all members of the committee present at the meeting have agreed
  • work consistently through the agenda clearly explaining the item being discussed
  • ensure that everyone has the opportunity to speak and that discussion is kept to the point
  • decide when the discussion has gone on long enough and sum up conclusions in an unbiased manner
  • close or adjourn meeting formally
