Word order with relative clause
Main Clause
Subject + verb + Time + Manner + Place +Object + other verbs.
With relative clause:
Subject +verb + Object +(relative clause)+time+manner + other verbs
Relative clause structure:
Relative pronoun + subject + other elements + verbs at the end.
Example: Het book dat ik lees is spannend. Spannend is at the end because is in this sentence is a predicate verb(that mean it’s saying what’s happening or what it’s like) think of it as a bridge. The book (bridge) is exciting. It helps to complete the story about the subject.
De fluffy kat rent snel. Here, the verb comes after the adjective because the adjective is part of the noun phrase.
Wij hebben gisteren in het park met vrienden het boek data we samen aan het schrijven zijn gelezen.
Verb plus preposition plus noun
Sub+verb+ object + prep phrase +TMP
However, if the prep wasn’t tied to the verb, it would be SVOTMP + prep phrase
Verb + Adj + prep phrase
