Superior Sagittal Sinus
foramen cecum
Inferior Sagittal Sinus
Abrupt (sudden).
Straight Sinus
At the middle of tentorial notch.
▪ By the union between Inferior sagittal sinus & Great cerebral vein
of Galen.
Occipital Sinus
Either from:
A. Transverse sinus.
B. Venous confluent.
Sphenopareital Sinus
Abrupt (sudden)
Cavernous Sinus
superior orbital fissure (medial end).
Superior Petrosal Sinus
Arises from the posterior end of the cavernous sinus.
Inferior Petrosal Sinus
Arises from the posterior end of the cavernous sinus.
Transverse Sinus
1) Right transverse sinus: begins as a direct continuation
of superior sagittal sinus (mainly). 2) Left transverse sinus: begins as a direct continuation
of straight sinus (mainly). 3) The reverse may occur. 4) They may begin from venous confluent.
Sigmoid Sinus
Direct continuation of transverse sinus.
